Bassman RI
Gerald has been reluctant for a long time - too heavy - too big, now he has one. This is the first edition of the popular Bassman from 1982 to 1989. Unfortunately, it is a little bitchy and often botched up.
The circuit was slightly changed compared to the '59 model, so rectifier diodes were installed and the unfortunate placement of the standby switch let the now numerous built in fuses blow - a nuisance. The cabinet was made of plywood and the blue alnico speakers by Eminence (102K). These are slightly damped in the treble range and that is why they are liked by harp players. The problem is that those amps are usually botched up, as obscure modification instructions are circulating and the use of unsuitable rectifier tubes may have affected the power transformer.
